Mr. Megrath is an experienced financial and operations executive with more than 18 years of collective consulting experience in media and technology services companies before his involvement in the investment banking and fund management business over the last six years prior to joining Rubicon's team. He has been instrumental in structuring, closing, monitoring and exiting numerous investments in private and public companies. His experience in buying, selling, turning around and financing middle market private and public companies in situations of growth and change has contributed to the success of companies that have been in portfolios that Mr. Megrath has been involved in managing in addition to advisory clients and companies he has contributed to in officer and/or director positions. He has founded technology and media start-ups and held key management positions in middle market companies, including serving as VP of Finance, CFO and board director positions in private and public companies. Mr. Megrath has a B.A. degree in Telecommunications and an M.B.A. from George Fox University.
Mr. Megrath has held senior finance positions at Integrated Information Systems, Inc., STEP Technology, Inc., Resolute Solutions, Inc., Christenson Electric, Inc. (High Voltage Division), and Printing Today, Inc. Don has held board or board of advisory roles with CarePayment Technologies, Inc., MicroHelix, Inc., NutriStyle, Inc., and Printbid, Inc. Prior to his focus in the field of fund management, finance and business leadership, Mr. Megrath's clients in media engagements included Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Health Systems, Oregon Public Broadcasting, Sequent Computer Systems (Now part of IBM) and Tektronix. Don has also been active on the boards of non-profits and committees in professional organizations giving back to the community.
Don thrives on assisting companies that are undergoing rapid change in strategic development and successful plan execution. He is recognized for his abilities in finding creative solutions, analytics, planning, and organizational skills in the development and implementation of solutions to complex financial and business challenges. He is a results-oriented and and energetic leader, skilled communicator, team builder, an adept negotiator.
Don is married with two children an is an avid outdoorsman.
